base coat
When you apply nail polish, always use a base coat before the actual nail color.
Have you seen women with yellowed nails?
Not a trendy yellow but a stained ugly yellow on long nails. That can be bleached by soaking the nails daily in lemon juice, but prevention is better than cure.
If you like dark nail polish, use a base coat to protect your nails. Okay, maybe you might not get this stained nail problem if you go for nail polish from Chanel and other exquisite brands but if you go for drugstore manicures, a base coat is your best bet.
