5 Steps To Spring and Summer 2008's Smoky Eye Makeup
Here's the low down, step by step guide on how to get that dramatic eye makeup look for Spring 2008 through Summer 2008.
1. Start with a flawless base.
After cleansing face and moisturizing your skin, dab on makeup foundation with clean fingers. Blend thoroughly into your skin.
2. Let the foundation settle, then take a huge powder brush and dip it into loose powder. Dust off the excess, then use that brush to dust powder lightly on your face to prepare your makeup base.
3. Now that your base is ready, work on your healthy flush. You can skip this step if you want that pale, slightly gothic look, but somehow, Spring and Summer call for a healthy glow. Swipe the blusher brush lightly over the blusher. Pick one in a color of your cheeks when you blush or when your skin is flushed after a good workout. Dust off the excess color onto the back of your hand. Then lightly brush the cheek color over your forehead, cheekbones and chin for an all over glow.

4. Pick a light rose or nude shade for your lips. You don't want your lips to compete with the eyes as you'd look overdone. Take a lipbrush and paint on the lipcolor. Use the edge of the brush to outline lips from within the lipline. Then fill in the color with your lip brush.

5. Now for the eyes. You'll need a good black kohl pencil if you are to do smoky eyes right. On top of that, you'll need black mascara, a main eyeshadow like a medium brown eyeshadow, a dark eyeshadow in coffee or dark gray, and a gold or bronze eyeshadow for the new spring/summer dramatic eye makeup. Apply the main eyeshadow over the entire eyelid. Then apply the dark eyeshadow into the crease of your eyelid. Next put on gold or bronze eyeshadow over the center of the eyelid, from lashes to crease. Take the kohl pencil and line both upper and lower lash lines, winging out as your go slightly past the outer edge of the eye. Take a huge brush and blend over the eye makeup so that the colors blend in beautifully. Finally, apply 3 coats of mascara, letting the mascara dry completely between coats. Separate lashes after each coat with a clean mascara wand.
