7 day scrub cream

Clinique's 7 day scrub cream is a creamy exfoliater which is meant to be used daily. The packaging says that it is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. I tried that on my skin both when it was healthy and when it was covered with dry patchy skin from a nasty rash with awful painful pimples beneath the skin, just about to surface.

I've read rave reviews about it online and really put it to the test. When my skin was fine, it felt good. Soft creamy scrub that did not irritate my skin or cause a break out. Skin felt smooth after that. I left it aside for months and forgot all about it. I've got so many different beauty products in plastic trays I use when I feel like using, that some items are forgotten for months before I happen to see them again.

When my skin had settled from a nasty rash and angry pimples were simmering beneath, I felt like I really needed a scrub. Exfoliation is the best thing you can do for your skin as it sloughs off dead skin cells and speeds up skin cell turnover. Normally, it reveals the younger skin beneath. I was aware what lies beneath is a horrible outbreak that is about to come out anyway and clogging up the pores is going to get it worse. I needed a gentle scrub to unclog the pores and remove the debris.

Digging through my trays I unearthed my 7 day scrub which was still good.

This time, the scrub felt rough. Rather gritty. I applied it gently with my finger tips and removed it. Skin felt cleaner after that. Amazingly, it did not irritate my skin. Even in that state, my skin took it well. I continued using it every few days (dare not try it daily with my skin in this state) to clean the gunk off my skin.

I'd give a thumbs up to this scrub. It is gentle enough for the fussiest skin.

Directions for use : Gently massage over face. Rinse or tissue off. Follow with clinique 3-step skincare. Warning: Keep entirely clear of eye area. If product enters eye, rinse with water. If irritation occurs, consult your ophthalmologist.
